Robbie's Racing history

Robbie started out racing at the local race tracks all over Western New York at the age of 10 years old. We would take Robbie to a race track and it wasn't just once a month or once a week it was every day. Once Robbie was racing it was hard to stop him for the day, he loved everything about it. The only thing he complained about was the speed; he always said the cars were to slow at every track we went to. As Robbie is getting older he still wants the speed but he knows now some time speed is not the only thing that wins races.

After jumping around from track to track we decided to tri a local flat slick track. We found out they were going to have a winter league there so we brought Robbie there four times a week to practice for the league, this went on for six months. When the leagues started up Robbie was the youngest driver in their division. The points for the leagues at this track are totaled up on a monthly basis. This means there will be trophies handed out to the new top 3 winners every month. Robbie finished well in this league many times with three 2nd place trophies and two 3rd place trophies in his first season.

Robbie told us about a race that’s an annual event to benefit Mercy Flight of Western NY, and wanted to know if he could enter the race. We told Robbie yes and the long practice days began. The first day of the race 70 drivers signed up for the event, it was a great turn out for a great cause. Robbie was nervous at first but he had to wait so long to race and by that time he was fine. He was the only driver at the event to win all of his races that day to win the first half of the event.

The second half of the event, 80 plus drivers showed up and every thing went just as well Robbie won his first two heats. But during Robbie's feature race on the last lap the belt broke on Robbie's race car, but Robbie was still able to bring the car home for a 2nd place finish in the race, and win the entire Mercy Flight event.

Robbie has moved up from racing at the local go-kart tracks to driving a Minicup Race Car. These Minicup race cars are ½ scale NASCAR cars with fully adjustable camber, caster, toe, shocks, and a 4 link rear suspension. The Minicup car also has a full roll cadge the same as a Nextel Cup Car. Robbie has learned a great deal this year with all the hard work he did on the race car. He is not just a driver he also knows what to tell the crew about what is wrong with the car at the races because he does do the work on the car during the week at the race garage before each race.

This was Robbie's first season (2004) there is only one race left this year and Robbie is 3rd in the points going into the final race. If he remains in the 3rd position he will end up the rookie of the year in his first year driving a Mini cup car. Click here to see the points.

The last race did not go as well as planed Robbie was doing a great job and on his way to becoming the rookie of the year, then it happen he was chopped going into turn 4 at Wyoming County he was in 4th at the time he needed to be in 4th place to grab the title of rookie of the year but the incident in turn 4 put him in last place. He did race back to 6th place but that was not enough. He ended up 10 points out from becoming rookie of the year in 2004.

Robbie has told everyone that his goal is to become one of the well known drivers in NASCAR and have a ton of fun along the way. Robbie is 14 now, as you can tell by his age, he will have a blast racing his way up through the different types of race cars and different divisions he will have to race in. He is already off to a great start. This young man has talent and the heart to go with it; he has all the qualities that a professional race car driver needs. So stop out and see Robbie at the races, look for the #24 Monte Carlo SS Minicup car (2004). ( Schedule )

 The
2005 season was a good season to learn a lot from, between the engine work, body work and chassis work that had to be done to the 24 Mini Cup car. To start off we had our engines rebuilt better than in 2004 which made them not so bullet proof, as we found out. We now have two Mini Cup cars the new used one is the 5 car, this is the car Robbie finished out the season with.
2005 Was not an easy season at all, the 24 car went through 3 motors and hit the wall twice, the second time it hit the wall it was in need of some body repair and chassis repair, but some how we were able to get the 24 car ready for the last 3 race of the 2005 season. On the last race of our 2005 season the 24 car finished 1st with Dave Urbanski behind the wheel.
Robbie finished out the 2005 season 3rd in points.
